1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750SS
One of 52 Supercharged 3rd Series 1750SS’s. Delivered new in January 1930 to the Tweedale family in the North of England and fitted with stylish ‘Threesome’ coachwork – designed by the importer Stiles and built by James Young. The cars second owner was none other than David Brown, who would go on to own Aston Martin after WWII. The car has hill-climbing history from 1933.
Comprehensive and well-documented history, including period photographs. VR4952 was in the hands of its last owner for over 50 years and competed extensively in VSCC events. Sympathetically restored, the car now holds FIVA papers and has been accepted on to the Registro 1000 Miglia meaning that it is eligible for an entry in to any of the 1000 Miglia events. The 1750SS benefits from a very favourable performance index of 1.75 on these events.
