Brian Classic - About
Brian Classic & Co.

Brian Classic & Co. is one of the oldest names in the collector’s car business, having been in existence for  over 55 years. Over that time we have owned some of the most important cars ever built. Our knowledge and experience across the board is practically unrivalled in the field. Unlike many of our competitors we are not agents or brokers but true dealers so if you have a car for sale we would be pleased to hear from you as we are keen purchasers and will make a competitive offer. Likewise, if you come to buy a car you know you are dealing with the Principal!

Brian’s passion for cars started many years ago, his everyday cars at 17 being a pre-war Lagonda 2-litre purchased for £100, and an Austin 7 for £12.10. A racer by the mid 1960’s, he was the first customer of Chevron Racing Cars with a B1 Sports car, later graduating to international F3 in a Brabham BT21 before reverting back to Chevron in 1968 driving the Works B8 together with Digby Martland. At a less serious level, he continued racing both contemporary and historic cars over many years in cars as diverse as an ERA and endurance-spec Porsche RSR’s.

By natural progression of life his passion developed and the company began. Many of the cars that were yesterday’s racers, Brian recognised as being landmarks and truly iconic cars. In the early days of the company it was not uncommon for him to have 3 GT40’s at the same time, a couple of Jaguar ‘C’ Types, or even a 250 GTO. The only difference from now being the fact that the asking price of the ‘C’ types was £3500, the GT40’s were £3750 and the 250 GTO £5500.

Alex Classick

Alex has grown up around classic cars, surrounded by a family who have lived and breathed cars and motorsport for many decades. From a young age Alex attended motorsport events and his passion for cars and motor racing was very clear. After completing a business management degree at the University of Nottingham, Alex briefly worked in the family company before moving to London and working as a car specialist at RM Sothebys, one of the world’s most successful auction houses, specialising in high end collector’s cars and learning a great deal about the auction side of the business. In 2017 Alex rejoined the family company working out of our London base. Alex has a broad knowledge of the collector’s car market and a specific interest in pre-war sports cars and cars from the 1950’s/60’s. He can often be seen by the trackside and is usually present at most of the European-based meetings as well as some US-based events. If you are in the South of England and would like to arrange a meeting please contact Alex@brianclassiccars.com or call+44 (0) 7932 760 593

Steve Dyer

Steve has been part of Brian Classic & Co. for over 30 years, in fact since graduating from university. He is a life-long old car fanatic and has always owned ‘classics’ since being gifted his grandfather’s Rover P6 on passing his driving test at the age of 17. His final year at university was disrupted by the restoration of an E-Type Jaguar! Well into his fourth decade in the collector’s car industry, Steve has accrued a broad knowledge of the market. He is also a keen motorcyclist, a drummer and holder of an expired commercial pilots licence! Steve is based at our Cheshire premises and if you would like to arrange a meeting please contact steve@brianclassiccars.com
