After the problems of too much snow 12 months ago, conditions were perfect this weekend for the 2025 St. Moritz International Concours of Elegance. 50 stunning collector’s cars gathered in the Alps to be shown off in ‘traditional’ concours fashion before the highlight of the weekend – taking to the frozen lake to enjoy carving-up the ice in a ballet of vintage metal and studded tyres.
‘Best in Show’ was awarded to the iconic Bugatti type 59 belonging to Marc Newson, adding to the car’s accolades achieved at Villa d’Este and Pebble Beach. This year’s featured class ‘Barchettas on the Lake’ attracted a gaggle of wonderful open Ferrari racers including 340MM, 375MM, 500TR, 500TRC and 857 Monza.
Unique one-offs abounded – where else might one see the Ferrari 365 beach car in conditions as far from its natural surroundings as it is possible to get?
ICE is a truly unique event that should be on the bucket list of every real enthusiast and the organisers deserve much credit for bringing us this eye-opening spectacle each year.
