Every August, the Monterey Peninsula transform in to the world’s stage for concours competiton, collector’s car auctions, special automotive launches and classic motorsport. The week culminates with the iconic Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, still the most prestigious beauty contest in the world. Car Week delivers an experience unlike anything else in the automotive world.

After a gentle start to the week things really get motoring on Wednesday with the first day of the Rolex Motorsport Reunion at Laguna Seca and preview days for the Gooding, RM and Broad Arrow auctions. Thursday continues the action at Laguna Seca, plus there is the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance for concours competitiors. RM and Broad Arrow and Mecum hold the first parts of their auction sales and the Ferrari Owner’s Club holds it concours in the centre of Carmel.

Things start to ramp up on Friday as Gooding joins in with the auction action, making 4 sales in a day. The Quail and Werks Reunion also take place on Friday, as competition continues at Laguna Seca, concluding on Saturday. Saturday also sees Concorso Italiano under way in Seaside whilst Concours d’Lemons provides a palate-cleanser for those who have seen enough shiny chrome.

Finally, Sunday brings things to a close with the highlight of The Week – the Pebble Beach Concours itself. Celebrating its 75th anniversary, special classes this year include; Ferrari, with a focus on NART competition cars; the coachwork of Carrozzeria Vignale; 1930’s streamliners, and Japanese motorsports.
